Ella Langley Dominates The Charts

Update:

SHE DID THE DAMN THING. “Choosin’ Texas” topped the all genre Billboard Hot 100 chart, making her only the 6th solo woman in country music to do so. Superstar? Party of one? Your table is ready.

This places Ella firmly in the upper echelon of current country artists. AND she just announced her new album Dandelion will drop April 10th. We’ve got her newest song “Be Her” in the Girl Crush Country Spotify playlist.

Original Post:

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has hit the top of Billboard‘s Country Airplay Chart, her third #1 song, if you’re counting. This one is especially impressive because she did it just 16 weeks — over the last decade, it takes most chart toppers an average of 30 weeks to get there. Carrie Underwood did it twice in the same amount of time back in 2016 with “Church Bells” and “Hearbeat,” and no other women have done it faster since.

“Choosin’ Texas” was already at #1 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart, which tracks airplay, streams, sales, etc. She peaked there after six weeks (the average over the last 10 years is 15 weeks), and has stayed there for 10 weeks and counting.

Oh, and one more: Ella’s at #2 on Billboard‘s all genre Hot 100 chart. If she hits #1 there, she will join an elite list. Fewer than 30 country songs have topped that chart, and only five of those were performed by solo women (and then only if you count Taylor Swift when she was transitioning from country to pop).

Obviously, we’re cheering her on all the way.
